W.W.T.F.Z? (working title)

Welcome to www.zombies.org.nz, the home of the upcoming documentary by Suspect Productions about New Zealand cinema, national identity, and… zombies, aka: Sure to Rise: The zombie-horror of New Zealand.

We’ve now wrapped up our interviews, although a recent article in Capital Times suggests that we should track down Kiwi graphic novelist David Raw (anyone have his details?).

After cutting together a couple of scenes for the DOCNZ 2007 Documentary Film Festival, we’re now hunkering down in anticipation of a rough edit before Christmas.

We’re aiming to have something to submit to festivals this year (2007), erm, make that next year (2008).

The Zombie Vignettes

Our stop-motion animation, The Zombie Vignettes, is currently in pre-production.

We’re pretty close to animating Scene 1, with Newtown and Cuba St. influenced shop flats awaiting lettering and set-dressing.

Teaser-trailer

Highlights from our first four interviews. In it we hear from Andrew Armitage (Aro St. Video), Hutch Wilco (enthusiast), Dr. Harriet Margolis (senior film lecturer) and Steven Whelan-Turnbull (director).
